Agenda: We'll start
out with an open Jam like we have for the last several meetings. Bring your harps and any other instrument you want to accompany
with. Bring as many keys of harps as you have. We don't want to play in G all night! Also, if you play any other
instruments PLEASE bring them. The more instruments we have to accompany, the better the jam.
After the jam, several
members have volunteered to give short presentations on their favorite harp players.
Ana Ferreira will be making
a presentation on some of her favorite
Brazilian harmonica players. This will include musical samples, some
licks and tricks from her favorite pros.
Jim McBride will be making a presentation on
Sonny Boy Williamson
II, aka Rice Miller. His presentation will include a listen to some of Sonny's greatest songs and an analysis
of some his technique and riffs used in his famous openings.
Matthew Smart
www.atlantaharmonicalessons.com will be making a brief presentation on the harmonica technique of his favorite bluesman,
Howlin' Wolf.
Matthew will breakdown some his technique, popular riffs and that deep vibrato. Presentation will include some harmonica
tab.
We expect these to be interactive presentations so feel free to ask lots of questions and share any
info you have.
